Bank Barn is a lovely barn conversion which is part of Yew Tree Farm, a traditional working Lakeland hill farm where Herdwick Sheep graze alongside a small herd of pedigree dairy goats. The ‘upside down’ layout means that the sitting room takes full advantage of the spectacular views. Four can be accommodated in a double bedroom and a bunk room.
Scaw Fell is a traditional stone cottage that oozes character. Wooden beams, latched tongue-and-groove doors, exposed stone, stripped wooden floors, and a Victorian cast iron fireplace all add to the feeling of authenticity. Scaw Fell Cottage also has fabulous mountain views from both inside and out in the back garden. There is one double bedroom and one twin room.
Row Head Farm with Middle Row Cottage is the last farm at the top of Wasdale before the road runs out. The farm, owned by the National Trust, is a traditional working Herdwick sheep farm. Once a farm workers cottage, Middle Row provides comfortable accommodation and, being nestled in a spectacular mountain setting, is a fabulous place to stay for lovers of the great outdoors. Admire the views across the valley towards Great Gable from the patio, or snuggle up inside in front of the open fire
Gable Cottage is a charming stone-built West Cumbrian cottage with original features and uninterrupted views of the Wasdale mountains. The stone flagged floors, wood burning stove, sandstone fire surround, and original beams reveal the integrity of this cottage. Four to six people can enjoy a relaxing break here with up to one dog.
Yewbarrow Cottage is a lovely self-catering holiday cottage, perfect for couples and small families. With uninterrupted views of the Wasdale fells, this character cottage is a wonderful starting point for hundreds of walks, either on the high fells or along the banks of the river that flows past the pub at Santon Bridge. The cottage has Wi-Fi access and the Santon Bridge Inn is just a 10-minute walk away and hosts the International “Greatest Liar” competition towards the end of the year. It also serves good food and fine ale.
Little Ground Cottage is a picture perfect cottage in the heart of the most unspoilt scenery in the Lake District. This self-catering holiday cottage sleeps up to five people in three comfortable bedrooms with a sofa bed for up to two more. Built in the 1700s, original beams line the ceilings in the dining and sitting rooms and a large wood burner keeps the cottage warm in the colder months. Little Ground has been recently renovated to provide modern living, whilst retaining its charming original features. High Holme enjoys an elevated position overlooking the peaceful hamlet of Nether Wasdale in the dramatic Wasdale Valley and offers outstanding views from the large living room windows towards the famous Wasdale Screes. The gardens are extensive and have several sections to them. The hot tub has fantastic views to the fells, a lower lawn is great for playing football, and there is a secret bamboo garden, too! Gatherings of friends or family can enjoy a visit to this cottage, which can sleep up to 10, with 2 pets.
